Faith Episode 24 Rough Live Recap

Edit - We got a happy ending~!

These were written before the last episode:

There, we're at the end... I'll be updating my last recap here...

Just like you all, I'm worried, crossing my fingers, hoping everything will go right for this final episode. Even this picture above makes me worried... She's obviously at the heaven's door.. And look at Eunsoo and Young's expression in the picture.. Whichever way i look at it, it looks like separation is their next step. Young holding's his sword there, it seems like a scene where he is looking at her, entering the heaven's door.. I'm just holding my breath now.. However, I'm actually hopeful now because of this picture... For a tragic spoiler picture before episode 24, tells me that a happy ending will come. You know how they usually scare us, giving us an impression that they'll not have a happy end... And then we'll believe a happy end won't come, and then our predictions will go wrong...? Okay, i'm just blabbering now, but anyway, i'm still really... worried about the ending. Other than the fact that Eunsoo is healed, everything else seems wrong at this moment... Like with another Woodalchi dying for Young... Back then, when Juseok died, it was for the King, and it wasn't in front of Young... But this time, it happened right in front of Young's eyes... And for Young... It was so painful to watch, especially with Dolbae saying in episode 23, asking Young if Young can stay as their captain.... And that he will be Young's hand instead... And he really did... In that very last scene yesterday, he protected Young... Acting like Young's hands, even though he was not capable to defeat Kicheol... And of course, Young is definitely going to be broken now. I'm sure his wondering, how many more of his loved ones must die in the process of all these? Definitely, he must be broken now, and the feeling is way worse than when Juseok died...

I think for sure though, Young will be healed by this episode...  For the fact that Eunsoo is alive, and will not die because of the poison... Cause this fact has be haunting his mind for weeks, and therefore, his heart and mind were the ones that were trembling, not his hands. I'm not sure how it'll turn out now, honestly... Usually, by now, i would be sure of the ending, but for Faith... I really have no idea.. We can be having a happy ending now, for the fact that Eunsoo is alive... However, that doesn't change the fact that she'll be returning to 2012 in a years time.. Unless we can convince ourselves, that 67 years in Goryeo is 1 year in 2012... Or nothing else seems possible. Unless Eunsoo will be able to find a way to travel back to 2012 when Young dies in 1388.. Which is around 37 years from now in Goryeo... Then maybe, 37 years might equate to 1 year in our time? Whatever the case, definitely, Writer song had it planned, that Eunsoo will have to return in a year's time... And she had it like this, to make things unpredictable for us, right till the very end... Whatever the case, again i say, as long as Eunsoo and Young truly lives well after this, together or apart, i guess i'll be contented. I'm crossing my fingers hard for them to have a happy ending together though... I won't even mind them being separated, and then... reincarnation? Like back in 2012, Eunsoo will meet the reincarnated Young ... who somehow remembers everything... Yeah, this is an ending that is stupid, and one i wouldn't agree with, but i think i'll be fine, for i really don't want to see Eunsoo in pain.. Of course, this neglects the fact that Young will be in pain, but i guess they won't show us Young being in pain... And will only show us the ending in 2012, leaving us with our knowledge of history, that Young lives till 1388, and dies in the hands of Yi Seong Gye. Whatever the case, I'm still hopeful, for a happy ending... I really want Eunsoo to be happier than before because of the love she has gained, making life... even more worthy of living.

Again i say, I'm hopeful, though I've prepped myself for the worst... But i'm really hopeful, because of the last thing Eunsoo left behind, the last of Hwata's relics. They have been emphasising it for the last few episodes, and I'm sure that Writer Song and the PD have left it unrevealed to the very last minute for one important reason... For it'll will be the turning point of the show, something so great, that Eunsoo will be able to save the whole situation... Maybe something tied in with the future, and how she's going to be back in 2012 after one year, but still, she'll be able to stay behind in Goryeo... I'm sure it'll be something so great, that it'll make us feel that our strong faith in the drama for the last 23 episodes has been worth it. Or at least I hope... Whatever the case, let's keep the faith. Happy ending or not, let this drama be worthy till the very end.

This journey has been lovely with everyone of you who appreciated Faith just like i did... I'm so glad that i didn't give up on this drama from the start, for beneath all the flaws, it's truly a gem.

I'll be posting my last rough recap for Faith below... *hugs*
-------------------------------------------

Dochi asks GM to take cover, but KC stops him...
GM asks KC if his crazy, asking him what this is?
KC just says he came to get what is his..
Woodalchis try to attack him, but to no avail.
Choi Young comes in, and KC looks at him.
GM tells CY that KC is crazy.
CY asks what is it?
KC asks where ES is, and says he’ll have to take her.
Dolbae realizes that CY’s hands is shaking, and he calls KC to attack him instead.
Young realizes and tells Dolbae not to do so, but still, it was too late..
Dolbae collapses after being frozen, and CY tries to attack KC, but his sword falls.
CY rushes to Dolbae, who smiles looking at Choi Young, before he loses his consciousness.
CY puts Dolbae’s hand on the ground, and asks woodalchi to give him a sword.
Deokman gives him the sword, and he tells all of them to back down.
He then tells CS to escort GM out..
GM is worried, and orders woodalchi to help CY, saying someone needs to help CY, cause he cannot fight KC alone…
CY starts to fight KC telling woodalchi not to help him, but KC hits CY’s sword away again..
CY takes a step back, to retrieve the sword. He then asks CS what his doing, and tells to bring GM away.
KC goes on about getting ES… but CY says no… KC asks what he can do with that hand of his. He says to bring ES, or he will kill people, one by one... here.
GM says his staying.. He says he knows CY’s state, so he cannot leave CY alone. He tells Y to back down just this time... But CY says to GM that there’s nothing wrong with his hand, it’s just that the sword is heavy.

They continue fighting, and CY’s strength, manages to split KC’s sword.
KC is shocked, and CY says, I told you, it’s because the sword is just heavy.
Lady choi sees that ES regained her consciousness. ES asks where CY is, and she says CY had some business and just left for a while.
ES says it’s such a relief that she regained her consciousness… She says, she was worried that it was all a dream…
Lady choi says that Young was with her for the whole night..
ES says, he must have been worried all night.
Lady choi asks about her health, is it okay now?
She checks, and there’s no fever anymore..
She then checks her pulse, and breaks down in happiness hugging lady choi, realizing that she can live on, with CY.

Daeman notices HSI and EJ’s actions and alerts the rest for they are coming for Eunsoo.
CY is still dealing with KC, saying that he can kill him right here, GM has to decide what he wants to do with KC.
GM talks to KC, talking about how he tried to kill GM and all, and how he wanted to save him.. Because he is a goryeo person, and his sister, empress of Yuan, loved goryeo.
KC replies, and talks about how Young cannot be under GM.
KC says that GM is just the King in name, and CY should be the King instead…
This reminds CY about the past king that killed his master..
And how that King said that Jeogeodae was the one that protects the citizens, and not the King..
GM asks what KC meant, and KC asked if he have ever done anything while being the King, did he fight on his own at anytime (Cause CY was always protecting him) KC says Y should be the King and he will request it to Yuan. Young says about how this thing happened back then (to his master), but he used his life to answer this situation...
CY says that person(his master) was wrong, … his wrong, because he escaped.
KC asks if he doesn’t wanna be the King... asking why he isn't greedy..
CY says, I have a King already, what else do I need.
CY asks GM if he should kill KC now, but KC escapes, and Woodalchi tries to stop him, but CY stops them for they’ll get injured if they directly deal with KC.
Woodalchis come and attack EJ and HIS.
Daeman reports the situation about EJ HSI coming, and then lady choi gets ES’s coat on her, to escort her away to the palace. She asks about CY, but HSI comes in and Daeman tries to stop her…
Lady choi brings ES out, but then ES gets worried about DM being alone…
Lady choi goes back in to help DM, as HSI was strangling daeman with her heated hand.
HSI hits both of them down, and prepares to leave, but DM stops her, and uses some wet cloth to prevent her…. He holds her in that position, and Lady choi uses that moment to stab HSI.
She dies…
A “woodalchi” comes to escort to the Queen’s area, however, his not an woodalchi, for she ends up with KC’s brother guy. He hits her unconscious.
EJ comes to the place, and realizes that HSI is dead, and of course, he gets angry.
DM reports that ES is missing, and then… CY realizes that DM was burnt at his neck, and pats him. He then rushes off to save ES.
NG comes to GM and GM asks why she came. NG says about what those people were looking for her, and Dochi brings over the old surgical tools (Hwata one). GM says this is what ES used, but NG says its different. Then they bring in some box with letters, and GM says this might be something ES needs to know... NG talks about Young... and GM says he told him to wait, for he couldn't go on with his mind being in this state. But he still left ES alone, to come and help me.... GM says ES was kidnapped to Goryeo, and NG says maybe the heavens didn't like the fact that she was kidnapped over..
GM then says that it was him who demanded ES to be brought over, so he should be the one that is punished... NG says she should be punished as well. (Oh you two *sobs* I love how the couple, and CY-ES are forever closely tied.. Not much interactions, but the care always exists)
NG says she has something to tell when she sees ES again, when she’s found.
He asks what is it? And she tells him its some word from heaven ( about sarang = Love).
She asks him to think of CY and ES...
NG and GM then hold hands, keeping the faith.
CY comes and Lady choi tells him about Eunsoo… he asks about the poison and her state…
Lady choi says about how she was taken, and he asks how.. Lady choi says ES overcame the poison.
CY says he has to go now, but lady choi says about how the King told him to wait…
He shouts that his waiting… and he says: "But I feel like I’m dying… Now…”
He walks off. (Damn my stream is so bad today *sobs*)
CY comes to GM, and GM tells him where KC has gone to.. GM says he knows how CY feels in this land…
He then asks, are you going to follow ES to that land when he catches up with her?
CY asks if thats the reason why GM wanted him to wait and not go after her.
GM says its because he wanted to know where she was going to, and to know CY's answer, for he knows CY is tired of this land.
He says he’s not following his teachers steps, and he won’t go..
He then asks for GM’s help to save ES…
CY leaves, and gets into action.
ES regains consciousness, but EJ has his sword at her neck.. He goes on about how she caused HSI’s death… KC tells him to take the sword away.
KC then talks to her, asking if she’s okay, if she's be cured off the poison.
She asks if his kidnapping her now.. He says no, she was escorted to him (LOL). So she asks if he can let her go, but no as well.
He says they’ll be going all the way to heaven together. He says about the third item, and how it can help them to go to heaven like what she said.
He then brings out Hwata’s stuff, and ES looks at the box..
Suribang is in action, searching for ES.
Manbo sister talks to Jiho, saying that he has to find Eunsoo, or Young will be living like some dead person again.
Manbo sister realizes something and sends him off.
Eunsoo opens the box…. And finds some old dusty device, and starts to cry…
KC asks what is it…
Suribang siblings are still around the area, and the gay guy is behind the one that disguised as an woodalchi to take Eunsoo. Gay suribang fights him, but that guy escapes.
CY tells woodalchi to tell them to wait, he’ll be going alone.
A boy watches a carriage going by, with Eumja sitting on the horse of the carriage..
Woodalchi is not far from them… rushing…
NG is praying hard for things to go smoothly, while GM stays alone in his room, worried.
ES and KC are in the carriage… ES tells him about how she’s not sure about the door... She says it should be related to the sunspot theory thing... She says she can't be sure of what happens to him after this, for she cannot be sure about what will happen after entering the door... saying he might not be going to her world..
KC says he doesn’t care… She then says okay, she’ll bring him to the door, but he’ll have to let her off, so that she can stay behind..
He says no, they will go to heaven together.
ES and KC walks somewhere, and she writes something with a chalk.
CY goes to that place the next day, and he sees what she wrote.. “It’s alright” in Hangeul.
He remembers it from the time she wrote it to him..
KC and gang sees some blockage, so Eumja rids them and they get through.
They go into some place, and KC’s brother guy pays the owner after locking the door, saying that they’ll be here for today.
Eunsoo is resting on a bed, while KC rests while staying beside her to guard her. His in pain because of his illness.
Suddenly someone bangs the door, and KC gets frantic.
CY comes in, and starts to fight Eumja.
KC stays by ES, telling her that they should go now but Eunsoo takes the dagger at her leg, and injures KC lightly… she escapes..
CY fights Eumja and the other guy, and successfully hurts both of them.
CY leaves to find ES… KC hides…
ES and CY meets, and ES starts to cry. He asks if she’s fine, and she nods that she’s fine.
He says, so now everything is okay?
She says yes…
CY: “So you’ll be by my side from now on?”
She says yes. They hug, both with tears in their eyes… ES cries…
They lay on the bed together, and he talks about heaven’s door.
He asks if she’ll be fine…
He says he can bring her just to see the door, to say bye to the people of her world.… She says is that okay?
And he agrees, saying they'll go there tomorrow.
She talks about how KC is still around, and asks if he’ll win if he fights KC. He says he can.
He then looks at her intently, and he says he just wants to remember her, and this moment
She touches his face… and he kisses her... He tells her to sleep, and she sleeps while he brushes her hair and looks at her.
The next day, the day where the heaven's door opens, KC goes to the door, and tries to enter it, however he is unable to go in... (Wow, seems like only Eunsoo can... and CY could back then, for his fated to get her.)
ES and CY walks happily together to some field.
KC comes by, and Young goes over to him, with Eunsoo behind him... He says that the door opened.. And Eunsoo says that her prediction was correct..  KC asks her how he can go in.. She tells him to just go in.. But he says that she's lying and he yells. He then says, if this is the end? Is death the end of all this... and CY gets injured in the process of protecting her... KC stabbed him, and CY still tries to fight, but KC froze him. KC tells ES to go with him. Young is frozen, and ES rushes over to help Young, giving him a CPR... CY thinks on the ground... Wondering why of all people, it was her that he kidnapped from heaven. KC gets back and stabs the ground next to Y's body, and takes ES away, as she looked at him, helpless..  (*sobs*)
He then talks to himself in his mind, saying that he wasted a lot of time... He said that he finally found it... however, it was too late. He flashes back to all the memories together...
KC grabs Eunsoo all the way to the heaven’s door, and she gets into the heaven's door to escape from him…. however he is unable to enter… He is frozen all around..
ES is back in 2012, and remembers what Young says about how she is unable to answer...
She rushes to the hospital and the nurse there says theres someone from japan who wants to interview her…
However, she just grabs the interviewers bag, and tells the nurse to tell them that she's gonna borrow his bag. She rushes to get her tools in her office, the device (last of Hwata's relics) and got away, back to the door, to go back to Goryeo... A nurse calls the police, reporting that the doctor (Eunsoo) who was kidnapped came back, but she's weird, with weird clothes as well.. Eunsoo goes back to the portal, saying that she's going to save that person.. However... Eunsoo travels back in time… to 100 years before CY's time in Goryeo…
She looks at the heaven’s door, and says… She didn't know what went wrong then, and wondered what she needed to go back to save him... She went to the field where she was last with Young, but he wasn't there... She says she got far away from him again... leaving the injured him alone... For she ended up in a world without CY this time... and went to a time 100 years before…
She looks at the heaven’s door, and we have another recap of their times together.
Back to Eunsoo’s time 100 years befor Goryeo..
She is there, healing people..
She takes out some of the things she brought from 2012, a necklace… the new diary (which became old in goryeo, the film thing, and the last of hwata’s relics, which is some projector where she can see her some of her doctor's stuff, like some multifunctional device, where she could even see her medical stuff, and her mum and dad’s recorded video. She watches the video, where her mum asks if she recovered from her cold... Eunsoo says that she misses her her mum's food. Her mum tells her dad to say something to her, and she says hi to her dad... but the battery dies...
As she wrote the diary in this timeframe, a 100 years before CY's time, she says in her heart that… she believed that CY didn’t die then, on that day. She says she has faith in that.
She looks at that projector device...
She then walks by the heaven’s door…
She then talks about how someone told her... how sincerity makes the connection, and how only memories can make that moment come true...
She goes to the heaven's door again...
(So, i assume, she has been going to check the portal everyday, hoping it'll open.)
And the portal opens, and she goes in, returning to 2012.. (I believe she has been doing this, to finally lend herself back in CY's time)
She then goes back into the portal again… into the past... she goes into an inn, and talks to some warrior that is dressed like a woodalchi…She asks why are there people from goryeo here, when this is yuan... She asks if Goryeo fought with Yuan and asks about the current King...
She asks about the time now and all, asking how long has the current king been the King.
Someone reports five years….
The guy that was talking to her got called in... She walks further in, and she sees Woodalchi!!! (Deokman was there, and Daeman soon joins him)
All are older, with longer hairs.. Deokman and Daeman quarrles again, and CS scolds them!
Eunsoo smiles realising that she got back into the right time... (4-5 years after her time travel here i think, means Kicheol would be dead by now.)
She rushes to the place where she got separated with Young, and Young is sitting there in front of a tree, with facial hair hehehe (Showing that time has passed) She sees him and smiles at him, with tears in her eyes… (YAAAAAAAAAAAY)

He smiles back at her, he has been waiting all these while at this field omg sadiuhduishdoisauhdoiu
They just stood there, looking at each other…
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
-EP ENDS-

Sorry for this super crazy recap, my stream wasn't being nice!
Im not fully satisfied with the ending, for that one year thing still doesn't make sense, but i guess.... it's fine, as long as i got my happy ending! Actually, a separation for the end would have been executed nicely for this show... But well, i don't wanna sob for days thinking that they're apart, so this ending works for me... Though... I found the part of them reuniting, knowing that they can be happily together in 2012... rather weirdly placed... For after that, they actually kinda went towards the heaven's door, and fed themselves to KC... And therefore they got separated... Kinda really stupid to me, but hey, i'm cool. At least the ending is not ridiculously stupid, it does make sense... and it might not be the most perfect ending it can have, but i can't think of anything better for a happy ending... So.... I'm great. I mean, this was the best ending I've ever seen in a time traveling drama... The rest were horridly executed, leaving me..... hating the drama. So I'm just extremely contented with Faith's end, even if it isn't that perfect one. *hugs* Everyone, this journey has been great with you all, be it just readers, or those that actually commented and talked to me on twitter or anywhere else. Thanks for watching this with me, making this journey entirely enjoyable! Hope our paths will cross again, maybe through watching another superb drama together again!

P.S I was fine after watching the finale, but two hours after, I'm feeling sour... Reality sinked in, Faith is over... I won't be having my weekly dosage of this drama anymore... I'm really gonna miss this show, every single character in the show... Young, Eunsoo, Nogook, Gongmin, Jang Bin, Lady Choi, Deokki, Daeman, Deokman, Dolbae, Juseok, Choongsuk, all the rest of the woodalchis, Jiho, Jihoo, everyone else in sibling, manbo siblings.... even deokheung, eumja, hwasooin, and everyone else...and last but not least, my favourite villain ever, Kicheol... I'm just gonna miss you all. For all the cuties and the newbies in the drama, the ratings might not be great, and you might not have been noticed in korea, but don't worry, this is just the start of your career for you *thinks of woodalchis scribing etc* And for especially Ryu Deok Hwan and Park Se Young, you two deserve a medal for this show, though i doubt SBS will give it to you two... Sigh...
*sobs* I really loved this drama, it was enjoyable... It might not be the best, but it was one that left me thinking constantly, one that left me contented. Show, despite your flaws, you were lovely. I'm keeping this post short, but I'm sure to be posting an overall review/recap/thoughts post about Faith soon... till then, see you all around! *hugs*

    2. I know...I was rooting for our 21st century girl the whole time! Talk about fighting for love...she never gave up hope and had faith. *Sigh* Poor Young though...I bet he died a thousand deaths when he went to the wormhole only to find KC dead and ES gone. So much for his promise to "eat well and live well" if she ever went back. Our emo daejang obviously didn't handle their separation well. Which is good because it mean he really loved her. Can you imagine if she went back to Goryeo only to find Young had married or shacked up with a concubine? Now...THIS CALLS FOR POISON! Lol!

    3. HAHAHAHAH omg imagine the five years later, his married, with kids. omg I did KILL hahahahahaha. But I'm sure he was waiting for her all these while, with hope... Which was why he sat at that tree. I don't think he lived like a dead person for the past five years... Im sure he lived with hope, that she'll return... And I'm sure he kept his promise, of eating and living well, for that was the only way he could continue loving her, by keeping his promise. And yes, our 21st century girl was the best ever, her strong love and faith, really makes her deserving of a happy ending:)

  4. Thanks redpinkboxes for the live recaps :-)
I impressed with Eun Soo's strength to cope with bad situations. I impressed her faith and courage to travel back again and again :-)

I agree that I'm not fully happy with this ending, but in the positive side, it's a good ending that teach us not to give up so easily. Keep the faith !

    Thanks again, redpinkboxes !!

    1. No problem, peem98! Me too, i'm so proud of the girl... For love, she did everything she could... She held on to the hope, and it brought her what she deserved.

Yes, not the best ending, but it's good enough! Yes, keep the faith girl!

  5. Thank you for the live recap. :)

Also, I wanted to offer my thoughts regarding 2 of your comments/questions.

"that one year thing still doesn't make sense"

    Here's what I think:
I'm definite that ES didn't spend a very long time in cca. 1250 (100 years before CY's lifetime). The fortuneteller in episode 1 told her that she would go on a journey for a year. So it could be that only one year has passed for her, including her stay in 1351. And when she made it back to cca. 1356 (and one year had passed for her since the storyteller's prediction), her journey ended since she had arrived home. To CY.

"they actually kinda went towards the heaven's door, and fed themselves to KC..."

    Here's what I think:
ES had decided to stay with CY, so she felt that she should at least say goodbye to her parents, whom she was leaving forever. And CY wanted her to have that last goodbye. That's why they went together to heaven's door.
As for KC... CY didn't consider him a threat anymore since he was confident that he could beat him now (sadly, he underestimated KC's craziness and the fact that he had probably also taken that last of the 2 strengthening pills). And since CY said he could beat KC, ES trusted him completely, so she wasn't afraid either.
